CORA DOWDEY
TAFT, TN: Ms. Cora Lee Dowdey, age 87, passed away June 25, 2013. She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed cooking, gardening, and quilting. She was a member of Cash Point Baptist Church, Taft, TN.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marc and Julia Dowdey; son-in-law L. C. Mullins; granddaughter Shelly Pate; sisters Grace Wayner and Rosalie Culp; brothers Howard Dowdey and Charles Dowdey.
Survivors include her daughters Carole (Don) Mitchell, Taft, TN; Glenda (John) Botts, Elizabethville, PA; Susie Nayduch, Halifax, PA; four sons Marlin (Sally) Lucas, Scottsboro, AL; David (Debbie) Lucas, Norfolk, VA; Dennis (Chris) Lucas, Seattle, WA; George (Trish) Lucas, Cary, NC; sisters Louise Hayes, Alpine, AL; Hazel McMahan, Trenton, GA; brothers Floyd (Lorene) Dowdey, Dunlap, TN; Bobby Dowdey, Houston, TX; 19 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren. nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 28, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Moore Funeral Home, Trenton, GA. with Pastor Derrick Moose officiating. Burial will follow in Lake Hills Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be Thursday 3:00 ~ 8:00 PM; Friday 11:00~2:00 PM. Arrangements by Moore Funeral Home, Trenton, GA.
