Clyde Herman Castleberry, a beloved member of the Rising Fawn, GA community, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2024 with his family by his side. He was 102 years old.
A funeral service to honor Clyde’s life will be held on Monday, April 22, 2024, at 3:00 PM in the Trenton Chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Brother Jerry Atkins officiating. Following the service, he will be laid to rest at Hanna Cemetery.
Those who wish to pay their respects can visit the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM and Monday from 12:00 PM until the service.
Clyde was born November 27, 1921 in Rising Fawn, GA to the late Ben and Malinda Castleberry. He honorably served in the United States Army during World War II. Clyde dedicated many years of service at Mississippi Valley Steel; however, his true joy stemmed from farming, gardening, and fishing. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
He is survived by his daughter, Malinda Pell; grandchildren, Tabatha Stephens, Alex Pell, Adam Stephens, and Brandon Pell; great-grandchildren, Tristan Stephens and Alexis Ashburn; and great-great-granddaughter, Elaine Ashburn.
In addition to his parents, Clyde was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes S. Castleberry; daughter, Nancy Stephens; brothers, Vardie, Henry, and LS Castleberry; sisters, Maggie Blevins, Dorthy Blevins, Icelean Davis, and Dora Dean; and grandson, Tyler Fritz.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to Amedisys Hospice for their compassion and care during Clyde's time of need.
