HIGDON, AL: Carroll Finley Swanson, age 80 passed away, Sunday, May 10, 2015. He had been a truck driver for North Alabama Transportation. He was a United States Army Korean War Veteran and member of VFW Post 216, Fayetteville, TN.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Gladys Swanson; sisters, Delores Hooper and Leih Swanson; brothers, Warner Swanson and Morris Swanson.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years and 1 month, Mary Countiss Swanson; children, Greg Swanson, James Swanson, Yvonne (Allen) George and Jonathan Swanson, Sr.; sisters, Nina (James) Riley, Darlene (Tony) Burrell, Sr., Gladys McAllister, Lynda Hickman, Ruth Bates; brothers, Lynn (Gail) Swanson, Stan (Elizabeth) Swanson, Ralph Swanson, James Swanson, Jr.; nine grandchildren; one great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM EDT Saturday, May 16, 2015 in the Chapel of Moore Funeral Home. Burial will be held Higdon Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Friday 2:00 PM ~ 8:00 PM
Saturday 10:00 AM ~ 1:00 PM
