CARLENE SHERLIN
BRYANT, AL: Carlene Velma Sherlin, age 82, passed away September 23, 2014. She enjoyed quilting and crocheting. Mrs. Sherlin was active in the disaster relief, Constructors for Christ, the Bryant Senior Center, and once was the organist and also a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. She was an inspiration and loved by everyone who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Edward C. Sherlin; parents Carl and Lillie Belle McGee; sisters Helen McDonald, Hazel Womack, and Lillie Bell “Cissie” Dantzler.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law David C. & Mary Sherlin; daughters and sons-in-law Karen E. Page, Nancy L. & the late R.J. Ward, Cheryl A. & Jack Jackson, Frances A. & Michael Lowe; 12 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; host of friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM EDT Friday, September 26, 2014 at Ebenezer Baptist Church with Brother Todd Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Lakewood Memorial Gardens South.
Visitation will be held Thursday 5:00 PM ~ 8:00 PM EDT at the Bryant Chapel; Friday 11:00 AM ~ 2:00 PM EDT at Ebenezer Baptist Church.
