BRYAN RODDY
BRYANT, AL: James “Bryan” Roddy, of Bryant, Alabama age 76 went to his eternal home, March 13, 2015. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church of Spring City, Tennessee.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Burton and Irene Cunningham Roddy; sister, Helen Chattin and brother, Howard Roddy.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Joyce West Roddy; one son, Mark (Joy) Roddy; four grandchildren, Lauren (Jesse) Smith, Cierra, Isaac, Isaiah and two great granddaughters, Rosalind and Georgianna Smith of Bryant, AL; two brothers, Ralph Roddy, Decatur, TN, Fred Linard Roddy, Dayton, TN and one sister, Hazel Hicks, Atlanta, GA; several nieces and nephews plus a host of friends.
He enjoyed raising beagles, fishing, reading and spending time with his family. He retired from Tennessee Department of Transportation with 33 years of service as a road design engineer. He spent his final days surrounded by his loving family and friends.
Services will be held 3:00 PM EDT Sunday, March 15, 2015 in the Bryant Chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Bishop Brad Bridges of Mountain View Church of God officiating. Pallbearers will be his nephews.
Visitaion will be Saturday 4:00 PM ~ 8:00 PM
Sunday 12:00 PM ~ 3:00 PM EDT In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Mountain View Christian Academy or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
