Robert “Bob” Harold Valero, a resident of Flat Rock, AL, passed away on April 24, 2024 at the age of 68.
Bob's life will be honored in a funeral service scheduled for Saturday, April 27, 2024, at 2:00 PM ET at the Trenton Chapel of Moore Funeral Home. Brother Charles Smith will lead the service, and he will be laid to rest at Lake Hills Memorial Gardens following the ceremony.
Those who wish to pay their respects may visit the funeral home on Friday from 4:00 PM ET to 8:00 PM ET and on Saturday from 12:00 PM ET until the commencement of the service.
Born on December 6, 1955, in Hoboken, NJ, Bob was the son of the late Warren and Mildred Valero. He dedicated 26 years to serving in the United States Navy until retirement. He served with honor during Desert Storm. An avid lover of nature, Bob was a member of the Chattanooga Camping Club. However, his greatest joy came from spending time with his family. He faithfully attended East Brow Baptist Church and volunteered at the Cartersville Fire Department.
Bob is survived by his loving wife Cheryl Valero; his daughters Amber Joyce (Jason) Russell and Aimee Jo (Jason) Cooley; siblings Judith (Bill) Sayle, Bernice (Mike) Alvarez , Marie Valero, Joanne Valero, Richard (Gale) Valero, Kenneth (Jane) Valero, and David Valero; grandchildren Jayden Cooley, Alyson Cooley, Loren Russell, and Lawsen Russell; great-grandson Axel Miller; as well as several extended family members and a host of friends.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his grandchildren Aubrey Julianne and Ava Julia Russell.
Instead of flowers, those who wish to extend their sympathies are welcome to contribute to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta – Scottish Rite Hospital in memory of Aubrey.
