ALBERT STEPHENS
NEWPORT BEACH, CA .Mr. Albert Ray Stephens, age 63, passed away September 14th, 2015 at the Flagship Medical Center in Newport Beach, California after his three year fight with cancer.
Mr. Stephens was born and raised in Chattanooga, TN. He graduated from Central High School, Chattanooga in 1970. After graduating high school, he joined the U.S. Army and attended basic training in Fort Jackson, S.C. He attended advanced training in Communications and received his MOS-0511 Military Intelligence (Signal Interception) at Homestead AFB, FL. During his service, he was deployed to the Republic of Vietnam and received the following awards; Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal and the Army Meritorious Unit Citation. He served from August 1970 to Aug. 1973 and received an Honorable Discharge.
He is preceded in death by his twin sister, Faye Craig and his brother Rodney Stephens.
Mr. Stephens is survived by his parents, L.J. and Geraldine Stephens, his wife Joanne, his eight children, Cindy Stephens-Kinard (Brent), David Stephens (Christina), Jacob Stephens (Ana), Jechiah Stephens (Charis), Elijah Stephens, Sheb Stephens (Laci), Hadasha Stephens and Joseph Stephens. He is also survived by his ten grandchildren, Justin, Patrick, Sebastian, Daniel, Emet, Michiah, Savannah, Elonah, Maleah and Alexander Stephens, one sister, Joyce Sampley and two brothers, Curtis Stephens (Belinda) and Ricky Stephens (Melissa).
Graveside services for Mr. Albert Stephens will be held at Hawkins Cemetery, Memorial Drive Rising Fawn, GA (New Salem). at 2:00PM on the 3rd day of October 2015
