Adren Eugene "Gene" Brooks, born on October 19, 1931, in Flint, Michigan, departed this life peacefully on August 17, 2024, at Dade Health and Rehab in Trenton, Georgia at age 92. He leaves behind a legacy of resilience and faith that will be remembered by many.
Gene was a gifted mechanic, known for his skillful hands and keen understanding of automotive repair. Perhaps most remarkable was his determination to continue his work after losing his eyesight. His unwavering spirit and dedication exemplified his character and earned him the respect of colleagues and friends alike.
A devoted member of the Seventh-Day Adventist community, Gene cherished his faith deeply. He loved witnessing and sharing conversations about the Lord with those around him, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of many he encountered.
Gene is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Brooks, and his children: Julie Gibson-Byrley, Kevin Brooks, and Brian Brooks. He was preceded in death by his parents, Adrian Russel and Anita Seymore Brooks, his sister, Doris Aldridge, as well as three of his children: Carrie Literland, David Brooks, and Christine.
Family and friends are invited to honor Gene's life at a Graveside Service, to be held on Friday, August 23, 2024, at 3:00 PM ET, at Collegedale Memorial Park, located at 4939 College Dr E, Collegedale, TN 37363. Steve Wade and Marvin Glass will officiate the service.
Arden Eugene Brooks will be remembered not only for his remarkable abilities and faith but also for the love he shared with those close to him. His memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of his family and friends.
