ADDIE LAWSON
TRENTON, GA: Addie Whited Lawson, a lifetime native of Dade County went home to be with Jesus and her son, David Hester on Sunday, September 16, 2012. She was surrounded by her children, Betty McBryar, Angie and Walter Moore, Donnie and Francas Hester and granddaughter, Ashley Hester Holcombe and Brandon Holcombe.
Addie spent her life caring for the elderly of Dade County as a CNA. She was an avid cat lover and a talented quilter. She was a member of New Salem Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin VanBuren Whited and Mary Alma Smith Whited; her son, David Franklin Hester and her sisters, Dora Ramsey and Ollie Powell.
She is survived by her children and a brother, Howard Whited, Hixson, Tennessee; grandchildren, Mathew Howell, Hixson, Ashley Holcombe, Valley Head, AL and Colton Moore, Athens, GA and several nieces and nephews.
She spent the last years of her life fighting Alzheimer’s and still continued to take care of those around her.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM EST Thursday, September 20, 2012 in the Chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Brother Jim Hixon officiating. Burial will be held in Head Springs Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Wednesday 4:00 PM ~ 9:00 PM Thursday 12:00 PM ~ 2:00 PM
